How to Use

FAQ

Should I use 0.5 or 0.25 strength?
We recommend you consult with your healthcare provider on which strength retinol is best for your skin type. Generally, those that have previously included retinol in their regimen can safely use the 0.5 retinol. Those who are new to retinol should begin using the 0.25 retinol until tolerated nightly then if desired, can switch to the 0.5 retinol.

Can this be used every evening?
We suggest you begin using two to three evenings per week and increase gradually until tolerated nightly.

Can this be used on all skin types?
Yes, it is formulated to be used on all skin types (oily, combination, dry). If you have specific skin concerns, please consult with your healthcare provider.

How long will this product last me?
It depends on your use. If using 1 pump every evening, the bottle will last approximately 4.5 months.

Is this non-comedogenic?
Renewal Retinols have gone through Comedogenicity testing to determine if the product can clog pores, which it passed – proving it does NOT clog pores.

Why does this product use an airless pump?
This product uses an airless pump packaging. This non-pressurized vacuum dispensing system does not contain a dip tube and instead features a mechanical pump to provide a smoother delivery and more precise dosage. The dispenser also helps maintain the product’s integrity by preventing excessive exposure to air and other contaminants. When using your dispenser for the first time, you may need to “prime” it to access your product.

As with any retinol product, you should use a broad-spectrum SPF product during the day. Alastin has two amazing SPF, a tinted version HydraTint SPF 36, and an all-mineral untinted version SilkSHIELD SPF 30.

To fight dark spots and pigmentation pair it with A-Luminate Brightening Serum.

PRO Tip: To expedite the exfoliation of your skin, use the Alastin ReSURFACE Skin Polish 1-2 times a week.
